Introducing the newest
(August, 2010)
When bio-tech genius Ryan Lear's life is threatened and his business partner is murdered, Ryan calls Detective Owen McKenna and asks for help. McKenna discovers that someone is trying to destroy Ryan and take over his fast-growing company. Ryan's company has made a hugely valuable scientific breakthrough at a high-altitude lab far above Lake Tahoe on the side of Mt. Rose. Soon after McKenna is on the job, Ryan's elderly neighbor, a famous piano tuner, dies after tuning his own piano. The piano has a bad tune, an inexplicable aberration for the expert tuner. Wondering if the deceased neighbor may have known something about the case, McKenna hires another tuner to investigate and learns that the neighbor had incorporated a type of message encoded in the vibration of the strings. McKenna also learns about a wild Mustang (named HEAT by Tahoe locals) that is running free in Tahoe's forests, miles from the desert that is his home. McKenna can't figure out the tuning message or the reason why the Mustang is loose in Tahoe, but he knows that both are connected to a vicious killer who is planning the ultimate revenge... |
